Like us, our pets get bored! Unlike us, mostly, they will express this boredom by displaying destructive behaviours including, but not limited to, chewing your favourite cushions & trying to dig to China in your yard.
While this behaviour can, and does, cause anger, it’s vital to remember that animals are instinctive, they protect, breed & hunt to survive. But what happens when we provide the protection, have them responsibly neutered & hand deliver their feed to them, once or twice a day? They literally have nothing to do. So they rely on us to provide something to keep them occupied, and then we go to work.
Hello to boredom, stress, anxiety, fretting & even depression. In fact, research has shown that leaving our furry family member for hours a day can lead to separation anxiety… a disorder that is very hard to overcome. Rescued animals are especially susceptible.
HAPS knows it’s impossible to stay home all day, every day. There’s bills that need paying, rent or mortgage to pay, and of course the pet food & supplies you have to buy.

PET HELP
Our Pet Help service offers hourly – daily visits from experienced & skilled sitters who will follow your instructions to:
Feed – specialised diets, frequent feeding for kittens/puppies and/or rescued pets, etc
Walk – We love fresh air & exercise just as much as your pets. One or five dogs, we’ll walk them all.
Play – Oh, this we do extremely well. Did you know playing is how warriors are born in the wild? Playing with young pets, the earlier the better, improves cognitive function, coordination, confidence & many more developmental processes. Playing with older pets keeps their minds active, and get them moving at a lower pace then a walk around the park. Playing is also a vital part of the bonding process with you, and forms trust.
Of course, HAPS sitters can give you some great tips in using things around the home to keep your pet active… and a little less bored.
Clean – All of us like a clean area to do our business, and pets, especially cats, are the same. Have multiple cats or kittens? We’ll be delighted to come and clean the trays & area, so your cats are happy & you come into a nicer smelling home. Of course, we’ll take a little time to cuddle & play.
HOME HELP
Maybe you need some last minute shopping done, mail brought in, a pet dropped-off & picked-up at a vet or grooming appointment, maybe the orchids you’ve nurtured on leave can’t be left to dry out for 9 hours a day… there’s just some things can need attending too, and we know it’s hard to do it all.
Our Home Help service gives you a chance to breath, knowing that your to do list is just that little bit shorter (or give us the whole list… we love being superheroes).
And if your mind keeps drifting back to how things might be faring at home, don’t worry, our sitters know how important it is to keep in touch and update you – via texts, emails, pictures, even videos – while you’re away from home.
